Company

Cytech Beijing Ltd was founded by Michael Ma who is a pioneer in the Chinese wireless network industry. The company was founded in 2002 to bring new and innovative technologies arising from this research to the general wireless network market.

Its first range of products was aimed at the Hotel and related industries market but also included outdoor wireless surveillance products.

Development

In 2004 the company became aware of the problems facing the hotel industry in providing effective connections for business users of hotel wireless networks. Put briefly these problems were caused by using a single wireless transmitter or even a multiple of transmitters distributed around the hotel. Business guests found that they could not get a good connection or if connected there was often interference from other users.

Cytech's solution is described fully in the technical section but effectively overcomes the difficulties by using the hotels television distribution system to deliver the WiFi signal to each individual room.

The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing posed a particular challenge. These games had to accommodate extremely large numbers of professional guests including many journalists with demanding deadlines and privacy needs.

Cytech installed their system in InterContinental Beijing Financial Street and Grand Hyatt Beijing on time for the games and the commendations they gained are detailed elsewhere on the website. The Beijing Hilton in particular carried out a new US$1million investment to provide both a network and support services, which was satisfactorily completed by mid 2008.

Into the future

Based on this high level of success it was decided to expand into the international market. This expansion is being implemented in 2009 by Simon Cheung a long term associate of Michael Ma and a veteran with over 20 years experience in the international IT and telecom market. Simon holds an MSc degree in Operational Research from London School of Economics, an MBA from Warwick Business School, and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Hong Kong. A new company Cytech Wireless Systems has been formed and will expand across Europe and the USA in the near future. Cytech Wireless Systems has been formed in conjunction with Cliff Hardcastle OBE FIEE, founder of Densitron Technologies plc and more recently Digital Connections Europe Ltd which has several relevant subsidiaries.

New products will be continuously added as they become available and the market expands. Full scale system integration capability will be available in 2011.

 

Our systems have been installed in the following hotels in time for the Beijing Olympics and give complete satisfaction to our customers: Grand Hyatt Hotel, InterContinental Hotel and Beijing Mobile Soho Hotel. Other users include InterContinental Shanghai Pudong, Hilton Beijing and Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel. All use and commend the Cytech system.
